Feeling sad for Todd

Todd has been my stepson for 40 years since he was 12 years old. I also have 2 biological sons (Tony and Clayton), that are 2 and 4 years younger than him. All our hearts broke when Tony died of liver failure due to alcoholism in December. This week, Todd’s half-sister died of pneumonia after getting the flu. Tough few months for him. But, thanks to my own spiritual growth through the death of my dad a year and a half ago, my son, and most recently the sudden death of my aunt only a year older than me, I was able to share some of my experience and hopefully offered him some comfort. It just goes to show that even horrible experiences in life can provide learning and growth that help not only me, but give me some words to share with someone else going through similar things.
